'Adding to the wealth of devotional symbology inherent in Laroche’s oeuvre, where elements of rite, sacrament and mysticism are rife; Control Thyself unfurls a new and treacherous expanse within the artists sonic landscape.
With it’s title track flickering between moments of ascetic incantations, auralising elements of self-flagellation adorned with shimmering strings; the artist sets forth a tone of discomforting curiosity that lingers through the entire EP.
Whispers, echoes and chants lure us into the cavities of Laroche’s world; taking on a self-induced catatonic quality.
The potentiality of threat in Control Thyself is imminent; yet it never entirely reveals itself, leaving fragments of omens for one to conjure.'
